Hi there. I know i am pregnant with twins. Went for my first ultrasound about a week ago and saw 2 heartbeats. I am 7 weeks pregnant. I was thinking about getting a dopler for at home as this is my first pregnancy through ivf so have alot of anxieties. I hope this can ease my mind. Anyways, i was wondering,is there any point to using a doppler with twins? I mean i know i will hear a heartbeat but will i be able to hear them both and distinguish between them?

thanks so much

Hi,
I too am pregnant with twins. I wondered the same thing. I could easily distinguish between my twins heart rates because they were very different. One was usually in the low 160's and the other was in the high 170's. Now over the last couple weeks the heart rates have become much more alike and I question alot whether or not I have actually heard two babies. But I usually hear both heart rates really stong clippity clopping along in 2 completely different spots (I know it's not just an echo, it's very easy to tell the difference) So I think it would be worth while to rent a doppler. I can tell you that for me, it has been great having everyday reassurance that everything is ok:) Good luck and congrats!!

Amy thanks for your reply! I went ahead and ordered one so i guess i will see how it goes! When was the first time you found a heart beat? Is it true you can hear it as early as 8 weeks?
